Software Development, AAS

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Academic Workforce Programs

Software developers with the skills to create, maintain, and test applications are in high demand. This degree program teaches students to write code using a variety of tools and programming languages.

The program provides a comprehensive curriculum that emphasizes core programming principles and practices. Students are exposed to a wide range of tools and languages, fostering adaptable skills that suit various areas of the software development field. By offering distinct program course options, the program allows students to specialize in areas such as web development, aligning their education with individual career goals.

The program also offers three certificates, which students can complete while working towards the associate degree.

The courses required for the certificates can all be applied to the associate degree. Therefore, most students will opt to complete them along the way, adding a marketable credential to their resume while they pursue the associate degree.

Students planning to transfer to a college or university should check with a Collin College Program Advisor prior to beginning the program, as this program combines both transfer and workforce courses.
