RNSG 1163 - Clinical I - Transitional Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse Credits: 1 A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. Additionally, clinical experiences in the classroom, simulation lab, and acute care facilities give the student an opportunity to practice technical, assessment, and communication skills with simulated and actual patients. The student begins applying knowledge of concepts and developing clinical judgment skills in direct patient care. A clinical experience in a psychiatric setting provides mental health experience. Specific learning objectives guide the student’s clinical experiences, focusing on the application of concepts and skills learned in concurrent didactic and lab courses. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Nursing (LVN-to-RN Bridge) Program and consent of Associate Dean/Director. Corequisite(s): RNSG 1216 and RNSG 1424 ; or consent of Associate Dean/Director Prerequisite/Concurrent Enrollment: RNSG 1128 or consent of Associate Dean/Director
